Privacy Policy
SmartKart helps users track products, prices, offers, and shopping decisions. This policy explains what information SmartKart collects, how it is used, and how you can request deletion.
Information We Collect
- Product tracking data, including product URLs, names, prices, target prices, price history, images, availability, store names, product specifications, and offer details.
- A device-scoped identifier used to associate tracked products with your device. SmartKart does not require account creation for the current release.
- Push notification tokens when you allow price alerts.
- Optional offer preferences, such as pincode, selected banks, and payment method categories. Full card numbers are never requested or stored.
- Approximate location only when you choose "Locate me" to find a pincode. SmartKart saves the pincode, not your precise location.
- Product page observations from the in-app browser or share extension when needed to read product details from a retailer page.
- Feedback you choose to send, including optional diagnostic logs when you turn on "Include diagnostic logs" in the feedback form. These logs may include recent app actions, API status codes, timings, app version, iOS version, and device model.
- Basic operational data such as request logs, error information, rate-limit signals, and service health data needed to run and protect the service.
How We Use Information
- To save your tracked products and show current price intelligence.
- To send price drop, target price, flash sale, stale product, and seasonal alerts.
- To improve product matching, shared product intelligence, and cross-store comparison.
- To protect the service from abuse, unsafe URLs, and unreliable scraping behavior.
- To respond to support, feedback, privacy, and deletion requests.
Retailer Pages and Web Views
SmartKart may open retailer pages in a web view so you can inspect a product page or refresh product details. Retailer websites are operated by their own companies and may collect data under their own privacy policies.
Shared Product Intelligence
SmartKart may use product-level data such as canonical product identity, price history, product specifications, and store information to improve intelligence for users tracking the same or similar products. This shared product knowledge is not intended to expose personal identity.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may use trusted infrastructure providers for hosting, database storage, notifications, analytics, customer support, and product data processing. These providers are used only to operate SmartKart and are expected to protect data consistently with this policy.
Feedback and Diagnostic Logs
SmartKart can send feedback without diagnostic logs. If you choose to include logs, SmartKart creates a limited diagnostic bundle for support. The bundle is designed to avoid retailer page HTML, request bodies, notification tokens, payment details, and secret keys. Diagnostic logs are used only to investigate the feedback report and improve app reliability.
Retention and Deletion
SmartKart keeps tracked product data while it is needed to provide price tracking and shopping intelligence. You can delete individual products in the app. You can also request deletion of device-linked SmartKart data by contacting support.
Your Choices
- You can remove tracked products from the app.
- You can disable notifications from iOS Settings.
- You can enter pincode and offer preferences manually instead of using location.
- You can send feedback without diagnostic logs by leaving "Include diagnostic logs" turned off.
- You can contact support to request deletion of device-linked SmartKart data.
